TIME AND CONVENIENCE
For many years, most car experts told people they should get an oil change done either every 3,000 miles or every 3 months. But unless you have a vehicle that's on the older side, you shouldn't have to do oil changes that often anymore. You should read through the owner's manual for your vehicle to see how often an automaker recommends that you change its oil.
Ford suggests that those with vehicles from 2007 and earlier get oil changes done at least every 5,000 miles or every six months depending on which one comes first. Ford also suggests that those with vehicles from 2008 and later get oil changes at least every 7,500 miles or every six months depending on which one comes first. If you have a newer-model Ford, you can also keep an eye out for the Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor that’ll alert you when you need to have an oil change done.

TRUST IN OUR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
With today's hi-tech vehicles, even something as seemingly simple as an oil change requires up-to-date knowledge of a vehicle's engine and its specs. You get that at Brewster Ford. We have the right parts, tools and techs to help ensure your service is done correctly the first time.

WHY ARE OIL CHANGES SO IMPORTANT?
Regular oil and filter changes are very important to the life of your engine. That's because the right oil helps keep your vehicle's engine clean, reduces overall wear and maximizes its performance.
Signs That Show Your Car Needs an Oil Change
While you shouldn't need to have oil changes done before the 5,000-mile or 7,500-mile mark depending on the age of your car, there may be some instances when you'll want to think about having an oil change performed sooner. You should consider bringing your car to the service center at Brewster Ford if you spot any of these signs:
- You hear a consistent knocking sound coming from the area of your car's engine.
- You notice your car regularly vibrating when you're idling.
- You observe a change in the color of your car's exhaust smoke.
- You smell oil inside your car.
- You shouldn't ignore any of these signs showing you might need to have an oil change performed.
- You'll run the risk of doing damage to your vehicle's engine if you don't take these signs seriously.
