Signs You Need Brake Service
There are many signs that may reveal a need for brake servicing. If your brakes display any of these symptoms, they must be serviced as soon as possible. Any delay in addressing these issues could result in brake system failure and, in turn, cause a serious and expensive accident.

Ford’s Standard Brake System Maintenance Schedules
Every Ford vehicle has a standard maintenance schedule, and each model includes an owners manual detailing the specific schedule for that version. Ford trucks, either with or without heavy-duty ratings, should have their brake systems serviced every 25,000 to 50,000 miles. The more heavily the truck is used, the sooner the brakes must be serviced. Performance braking systems for Ford trucks are made to hold out longer, covering as much as 80,000 miles before service is needed. Our service team can replace your standard brakes with performance brakes at your request.
Ford cars, like the legendary Mustang, should have their brake systems serviced every 30,000 to 70,000 miles. The variation here is based on use, just as it is with our truck lineup, but for different reasons. Truck braking systems wear down primarily due to towing and hauling pressure, while Mustang brakes wear down most when coming to a stop from higher speeds. Ford’s lineup of SUVs, like the recently reimagined Bronco, need their brake systems serviced every 50,000 miles.
