An afternoon with the family at Muscoot Farm is hard to beat. Whether your children love animals or history, there’s a little of both at this early 20th-century agricultural museum. The Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation owns and operates this fun spot in nearby Katonah.
The original owners, the Hopkins family, founded this 777-acre “Gentleman’s Farm” in 1880. The buildings and grounds are open to the public 362 days of the year from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. At Muscoot Farm, there are tons to see and do in a family-friendly atmosphere. You can:
Shop for freshly harvested goodies at the Farmer’s Market.

Located just a mile from Brewster Hill, this local oasis offers a peaceful vibe that’s a welcome respite from city life.
Whether you’re casting bait or fly fishing, there’s a good chance you’ll land a fish here. So grab the kids, pack your favorite rod and reel in your new F-150, and get out there.
