After a certain age, who doesn’t consider a nip or tuck here or there.  It looks like Ford has been thinking that way and now plans to give the Mustang a facelift.  In 2018, the Mustang will show off its new look.  Mark your calendar for fall 2017 to come by Brewster Ford to see one.
 
Ford marketing manager Mark Schaller stated, “Fast, fun and affordable is in the Mustang’s DNA. This is one of the biggest midcycle changes ever for the Mustang.”  You may wonder what midcycle change means?  By definition, in the eyes of the auto industry, a midcycle change or update to a vehicle means the changes were made midway between its introduction and the arrival of an all new model.
 
The 2018 Mustang will feature a lower nose, a new 10-speed automatic transmission and new LED lights.  From the windshield forward, even the sheet metal used in the Mustang will be new.  Look for new fenders and a lower hood with new vents. Both the front and rear bumpers will be new. To resemble the chevron front signature lights, the tri-bar taillights will be reshaped.
 
Thanks to the addition of port fuel injection to complement the direct injection already in Mustangs, the Mustang GT’s 5-liter V-8 will have more power.  The same technology will increase torque in the 2.3-liter turbo four-cylinder engine.
 
The 2018 Mustang interior will also be in on the facelift.  The center console will get a new vinyl wrapping, customizable display for gauges, a metal start button and an optional heated steering wheel.

Nothing is more exciting than hitting the open road to explore our nation.  And nothing is worse than being on the side of the road in an auto that has failed you.  At Brewster Ford, we would hate to see your trip derailed.  Consider these things to ensure your vacation is a great one.
 
Check/Do The Following:

Change oil and filter, as well as your air filter
Change spark plugs
Check tire pressure and tread. Look for signs of strain, bulges or other damage.

Know your limits. If driving 300 miles in a day is it, plan accordingly
Stay at a steady speed to see more and use get better gas mileage
Leave the Red Bull and coffee at home. If you get tired, pull over and rest
Stay away from trucks. Never tailgate. Pay full attention to the road.

Just because it’s winter time, there is no need to hide your head under the covers until Spring.  If you are lucky enough to live in the Brewster NY area, there are plenty of places to enjoy when it’s cold outside. Local landmarks are plentiful in our area.  Have you ever been to Putnam County’s Tilly Foster Farm?  If not, load up the kids and make your way there.  It’s a great spot to hike, fish, see farm animals and even cross-country ski.  If you love horses, you will definitely want to explore Pleasant View Farm located in the town of Southeast, New York, on the border of Westchester and Putnam counties.  It’s about an hour’s drive north of Manhattan. The farm is primarily devoted to horse boarding, care and training. It also has a small livestock operation and a mushroom farm. Both of these stops are beautiful especially when they are blanketed in snow.
 
If a bite to eat and brew is more your style, you must check out the Bull and Barrel where they have a passion for all things craft. They would tell you they are part brewer, part forager and part rabble rouser. This restaurant and brewery is situated near the base of the East Branch Reservoir.
