You can still find other mouthwatering options on the menu, including wings, steaks, chicken Parmesan, Shepherd’s pie, and a thoughtful selection of gluten-free items.

McCarthy’s Grill House also offers an extensive Bloody Mary menu, a martini menu with over a dozen options, a fruity selection of summertime coolers, and a range of international coffees. You’ll find it easy to complete your meal with a beverage from the bar. If you want to enjoy McCarthy’s meals at your next event, this restaurant also caters.

Holy Smoke BBQ

One customer at Holy Smoke (241 Route 6N, Mahopac) reviewed the ribs as “well seasoned, falling off the bone, amazing flavor.” Holy Smoke has delivered flavorful barbecue dishes since 2004. In addition to offering award-winning barbecue, the restaurant also provides a great craft beer bar and extensive bourbon list.

You can incorporate the rich flavors of slow-smoked barbecue into every course at Holy Smoke. Start with an appetizer like smoked chicken wings, BBQ spring rolls, or loaded nachos topped with pulled pork, brisket, and chili. Order from the barbecue pit and enjoy tender favorites like spare ribs, baby back ribs, chicken, pulled pork, beef brisket, house-made pastrami, and house-made Spanish chorizo sausage. If you can’t make up your mind, order the “PIG NIC” for two that comes with any four of these specialties, four sides, and three pieces of cornbread.

These barbecue meats are also available on a selection of hearty sandwiches, like the brisket melt or house-made pastrami Reuben. If you have a big appetite, order the Holy Smoke BBQ Burger topped with pulled pork, brisket, frizzled buttermilk onions, aged New York cheddar, and a bourbon barbecue sauce. Holy Smoke even caters to children with a kid’s menu that will keep the little ones happy while you’re out and about battling their boredom.

Billy Joe’s Ribworks

Miz Hattie’s Southern Style BBQ

Miz Hattie’s BBQ (288 Main St., Beacon) was born from a pure love of cooking. For founder Hattie Hess, barbecue is a family affair. The pecan pie features sugar sauce made using her aunt’s recipe and pecans that Hattie’s sister ships from Texas. The mouthwatering Southern-style menu features barbecue chicken, pulled pork, beef brisket, and more. Try your barbecue in new ways with options like the Brisket Burger or macaroni and cheese topped with pulled pork.

Though the area has plenty of delicious dessert spots, your best option for satisfying that sweet tooth is to get your entire meal from Miz Hattie’s, where you can order sweet potato, pecan, apple, and bread pudding, or lemon cake, wash it all down with fresh-squeezed lemonade for a hearty helping of Southern goodness.
